Have you wanted to start podcasting about board game design, but you don’t want to deal with all the hassle of managing a podcast feed?
Do you create written or video content about board game design that you would like to share with a podcast audience?
Do you have a few minutes a month that you just don’t know what to do with?
Why not become a contributor to The Board Game Workshop?
Every 4 weeks we have a contributor episode that is pieced together from various contributor segments. I started the contributor episodes for two reasons, to get a greater diversity of voices on the show and so I don’t have to schedule as many roundtable episodes. It’s very hard to get 4 people’s schedules to line up.
What is a contributor segment?
Contributor segments can be almost anything you want as long as they follow a few guidelines.
- Maximum length of 15 minutes. 5-10 minutes is pretty common.
- Family friendly. I don’t want to put an explicit tag on the show. Keep it PG-13.
- Useful to game creators. Something that will help designers, developers, artists, publishers, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, or anyone else involved in moving a game from idea to the player.
- It can’t be just a review or promotion. It’s fine to talk about a specific game and promote your own work, but the focus should be on sharing knowledge that will help others create games.
You can submit a one time segment or have an ongoing series. There is no commitment and you can submit as frequently as you want. If you would like to hear examples of past contributor segments, listen to any odd numbered episode starting in January of 2018.
If you have an idea for a segment or any questions, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can get you started.
