The Board Game Workshop Design Day is a chance for designers and play testers to come together to help improve developing game designs and build the New England game design community.
Designer badges to the event cost $30.
Designers get an 8’x4′ table with a table cloth and 6 chairs for 5 hours.
There will be two blocks of time for design tables. Each block will have 16 tickets available.
- Block 1 (10:00am-3:00pm)
- Block 2 (3:30pm-8:30pm)
During your 5 hour block you can test any game designs you want as long as they meet our community standards.
If you have co-designers or helpers, only one of you needs a designer badge for the table.
Play testers can attend for free but should still sign up for a free play tester badge to help us anticipate attendance.
Every badge holder will be entered into random prize drawings throughout the day. You must be present to win a prize.

We will have random drawings throughout the event to give away games and prototyping materials donated by our sponsors. Everyone who registers for a designer badge or play tester badge will be entered into the drawings. You must be present to win a random drawing.
Community Standards and Code of Conduct
The design day is a day to bring the New England game designer community together to improve new games. If you are a designer presenting your games, you should also attend the other block and play other designer’s games.
When giving and receiving feedback you should be kind. Critique is an integral part of the design process, but it is not more important than the wellbeing of the designers and players attending the event.
The Board Game Workshop is dedicated to providing a harassment-free event experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of event participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any event venue, including talks. Event participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the event without a refund at the discretion of the event organizers.

No outside food or beverages are allowed at the event per hotel rules.
Food will be available at the hotel’s restaurants from 6am-2pm and 4pm-11:30pm. The hotel will also be selling concessions (sandwiches, chips, and drinks) outside of our event from 1pm-4pm. Concessions are cash only. There is an ATM in the lobby.

The hotel has plenty of free parking and is easily accessible off of I-495.
We do not have a block of rooms for this event.
