As Phil Amylon rides his bike across the United States from June to September, he is stopping at game design communities and interviewing what he calls “design allies.” These are people who aren’t necessarily game designers, but are vital to bringing gamers together and facilitating connections between people in the gaming industry.
His first stop was in Manchester, CT, where Jennifer Bartlett, Head of Reference (known as The Board Game Librarian online), has created a unique board game program that’s great for designers and gamers alike. Her library boasts 500+ games that people can borrow just like books, free gaming events (with snacks!), and support for local designers to showcase their prototypes.
